President Youth Council Pakistan Attends Launch of SafeNet Cyber Awareness Drive 2025 at NASTP

President Youth Council Pakistan, Muhammad Shehzad Khan, attended the launching ceremony of SafeNet, a pioneering initiative by IMAP, on the invitation of CEO Fatima Rashid Malik. The event marked the beginning of the Cyber Awareness Drive 2025 at the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP), aiming to foster a culture of digital safety and resilience in Pakistan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Muhammad Shehzad Khan highlighted the strategic importance of cybersecurity in the 21st century:
“Cybersecurity is no longer a technical matter—it is a national security imperative. The future of nations will not only be defined by their military strength but also by their digital resilience.”
He elaborated on the evolving nature of security, referencing the Copenhagen School’s broader view of security that extends from traditional to non-traditional domains. He emphasized:
“From borders to cyberspace, the definition of security has transformed. Just as AI is being deployed at the US-Mexican border for surveillance and safety, Pakistan too must adopt innovative technologies to secure its digital frontiers.”
President Khan also underlined the youth’s role in shaping a secure digital Pakistan:
“Our young generation is our first line of defense against cyber threats. By equipping them with knowledge and tools, we are not just protecting systems but safeguarding Pakistan’s future.”
He further called for collaborative efforts between government institutions, academia, and industry to build a sustainable cybersecurity ecosystem in Pakistan.
The event concluded with a strong commitment from all stakeholders to support SafeNet’s mission of creating a safer and digitally empowered Pakistan.
In today’s era of rapid digital transformation, cyber threats have become increasingly sophisticated, posing risks not only to individuals and businesses but also to national security and sovereignty.
